Panetta Gets Delicacy for Tracking Osama

As a reward for hunting the world’s most wanted man, Osama Bin laden, Leon Panetta the chief of Pentagon will be celebrating the New Year with a bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild from 1870 worth $10,000. This award has been won for him as a result of winning a bet with a friend. The bet was made last year on New Year’s Eve by the restaurateur Ted Balestreri who had pledged that he would uncork the oldest bottle in his wine collection if Leon Panetta who was the director of CIA captured the Al-Qaeda mastermind.
It was four months after that Sylvia, wife of Loen Panetta called one their of their oldest friends and asked him to get the wine-opener ready. Balstreri told the Monterey County Herald that when he questioned why she asked him to turn on his television set. As the chief of the Central Intelligence Agency, Panetta not only urged for the offensive but also monitored the attack on May 1 inside Pakistan that captured Osama bin Laden. Balestreri who is the co-owner of a restaurant in the hometown of Panetta, Monterey said that the bet was in the wine cellar of his restaurant.
When some guests inquired about his oldest wine bottle he said that he had no plans to open it which was worth $10,000. Although American government officials are not allowed to accept any private gifts, authorities say that the bottle of wine was not a gift and would be served during the celebration on New Year’s Eve.
