McChrystal Invited by Afghan Government

Stanley McChrystal, the American Commander in Afghanistan who was sacked by President Barack Obama, has been once gain invited by the Afghan government to Kabul. Officials said that he has accepted the invitation by the Kabul government to visit the country. The trip which is expected to take place next month will mark the first visit of the retired general since he was sacked from his post. The General was fired after an article in the magazine, “Rolling Stone” in which his friends and aides were found criticizing the civilian deputies of Obama and the White House.
General John Allen, the current Commander in Afghanistan, Ryan C Crocker, the American Ambassador to Kabul, General James Mattis, the head of US Central Command, and the senior officials of the White House have so far raised no objections on the planned visit of the General to Afghanistan. An American official has said that he had informed the White House about the visit and the White House certainly had no issues with it. The official said that the visit will also provide the General and his wife with an opportunity to carry on their efforts with an Afghan charity named “Aashiana’, that works for the children deprived of their needs.
During his posting in Afghanistan, McChrytsal had enjoyed very warm and cordial relations with the President Hamid Karzai and various other top Afghan leaders while he was the commander of the NATO forces there, and he still maintains contact with all those people. At a time when the relations between Afghanistan and the United States are increasingly strained, analysts believe that McChyrtsal may be used to convey messages as a private contact.
