Amazon Setting New Sales Record Powered By Kindle Family
The holidays of 2011 is one of the best ever holidays for the online retailer giant Amazon due to top sales of its latest product of Kindle family.
Amazon announced that it sold over one million Kindles each week in December with record demand led by its Fire Tab.
Digital industry media reported that the heavily advertised Amazon Kindle brand e-reader and tablet computer held the top three spots on the sales charts of Amazon, with the Kindle Fire Tablet leading, followed by the Kindle Touch and the non-touch Kindle e-reader.
Seattle-Washington based company said that its Kindle Fire Tab is one of the best selling, most gifted and most wished for product since its launched 13 weeks ago.
Amazon said that its electronic books also had a strong showing in this holiday season, with the gifting of Kindle e-books up 175% between Black Friday and Christmas Day as compared to the same period 2010.
Media reported that Amazon never released its specific sales figures for the Kindle brand, since the launch of the first Kindle product in 2007.
Some of the technology experts said that the Amazon’s Kindle Fire Tab is to be one of the first and true competitors to Apple’s iPad. The company sells its 7-inch display Kindle Fire Tab for less than half the price of Apple Inc least-expensive iPad on September 28 in a bid to grind down Apple’s dominance.
Last week, the company released a Kindle Fire software update to improve its performance, Amazon said that it updated tabs software that make touch navigation easier and let its users choose what items are displayed after some of its Tab users complained.
