X-Factor Shake-Up

After Monday’s public announcement that host Steve Jones will not be returning to Simon Cowell’s baby come reports that judge Nicole Scherzinger, and even more amazing, Cowell’s longtime sparring partner, Paula Abdul, won’t be returning either.
Aside from the show’s untouchable producer and star Cowell, that leaves only judge L.A. Reid.
Jones posted on twitter on Monday that the jig was up, for him at least. He said he will not be hosting next season’s X Factor which is too bad, but he can’t complain as he’s had a great time. He wished everyone on the show good luck. Fox confirmed Monday Scherzinger is also off the show. Abdul’s exit has been reported widley, but wasn’t confirmed by the network. Neither Scherzinger nor Abdul has made a comment.
Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly stated at the Television Critics Association convention earlier this month that ‘there will be changes’ to the show. But he also gave support.
He said he is thrilled with the fact that the show has assisted in providing them with one of the strongest falls they’ve had in their history.
Replacement judges that are possible include singer Mariah Carey, who Cowell revealed would have been offered the gig had she not been pregnant at the time.
‘Idol’ survived Cowell’s exit by bringing on fresh blood in the form of singers Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. Will Cowell be able to perform the same magic? Tune in for Season 2.
