Panetta said no clear decision by Israel over attacking Iran

On Tuesday the US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said that he does not believe that Israel has arrived at any decision yet to attack Iran in order to thwart its nuclear program. As he has mentioned earlier he said that he does not have any idea that Israel would launch any military strike this spring against Iran.
A columnist for Washington Post had written recently that it is most likely Israel would attack Iran this spring in the months of April, May or June. A Republican, Senator Roger F Wicker during a hearing before the Armed Services Committee of the Senate pressed Leon Panetta on his personal assessment. Wicker questioned whether Panetta had any position as to whether or not or when Israel would attack Iran. The Secretary of Defense replied that he did not. He also highlighted the fact that the Obama administration is very worried regarding the Iranian nuclear ambitions and the stubborn attitude it has pursued.
He said that the United States has got a common cause with Israel. They have a common cause with the International community as well regarding the concerns expressed about the Iranian nuclear intentions. United States has made it very clear that the Islamic Republic does not make nuclear weapons. Leon Panetta said that they have make it clear that they do not want the closure of the Straits of Hormuz. This point has also been stated that the United States will not tolerate export of terror and the undermining of other states.
Leon Panetta said that in this regard the United States and the international community has already taken some strong steps like the imposition of sanctions.
