ESPN Employee Gets Fired and Lin Makes Request Of Media

With Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin’s nine turnovers in New York’s loss to New Orleans, ESPN used the headline “Chink in the Armor” Friday on ESPN’s mobile website. Afterward, ESPN officials says it fired an employee responsible and apologizes for that headline. As NBA’s first American-born player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent, Lin has captivated fans by leading the Knicks to seven straight wins before the loss on Friday.
also, Jeremy Lin asked for a rare favor of the massive media turnout after his team’s 104-97 victory over Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. He appealed for consideration for members of his family in Taiwan by saying, “I love my family, I love my relatives. One special request I have is for the media back in Taiwan to kind of give them their space because they can’t even go to work without being bombarded and people following them. I want people to respect the privacy of my relatives in Taiwan. Hopefully this will get back to everybody because they need to live their lives as well.”
We hope they listen to you Jeremy, and good luck versus New Jersey tonight. Thank you for joining me and stay with us for all your sports updates. I’m Lynn Lumpkin CRWENewswire Sports Commentator.
