Nurse is surprised by a…Baby?
Reported by: Wijdan CRWE Newswire Middle East correspondent.
British nurse, Jodie Kenna, from Halewood, Liverpool, who was unaware of her pregnancy, got into a warm bath to ease stomach cramps and ended up giving birth to baby girl.
Miss Kenna recalls the startling incidents of that day and told reporters that she felt pain in her stomach and was relieved of her duty from St Andrew’s Primary School. She went home from work and made herself a warm bath to relax. She got a shock of her life when within a matter of minutes she gave birth to a healthy baby girl with a weight of 7 lbs 5 oz.
The first thing that Miss Kenna did after giving birth was to call her partner, Alan Whitehead, informing him about the birth. Doctors are not sure about the time of the pregnancy but the health and the weight of the baby depicts that she was almost at the end of her pregnancy.
Miss Kenna, who already has a five year old daughter, Evie, said that both parents are very happy to have a baby girl and the elder sister loves her sister. She added that the time it was happening was very terrifying, since she was alone in her house and was completely unaware of her pregnancy. While explaining her partner’s reaction she said that Alan was at first shocked when she broke that news to him but he came home to find the baby in her arms and got over it and is really pleased at this surprise arrival.
Her mother, Elaine, also rushed to their house on hearing this news, when she made it there, she was very surprised to see the size of the baby. She said that she got really worried when she saw the baby was getting blue, therefore she told Jodie Kenna to get ready for the ambulance.
A northwest ambulance service spokesperson, which made it to the house on a distress call by the mother of the patient and helped transfer the baby and the mother to the near by hospital wished all the best to the family in the future.
