It is reported that Verizon Wireless is set to unveil a half-dozen 4G LTE smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2011. Not much specs except to note that it looks a lot like the Desire HD and the device features a kickstand and Google branding.
In October 2010, Verizon Wireless announced that it will launch its 4G LTE network in 38 US cities by the end of this year and will debut a half-dozen LTE smartphones and tablets at the CES (Consumer Electronic Show). It is reported that the initial 38 US cities will include Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Boston, and San Francisco and LTE will also be available in 62 airports. President of Verizon, Lowell McAdam, said that the upcoming phones and tablets will come from the top OEMs around the world.
Verizon announced last week that company will launch a Motorola phone for its 4G network. About this Motoral phone, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Verizon chief operating officer John Stratton said, they have got LTE smartphones on the horizon, Motorola will be right there.
The new Verizon’s 4G LTE network is the fastest in the land, and makes the carrier, once again, the Cadillac of wireless networks. It is actually the fourth US carrier to call its network 4G, after Sprint, T-Mobile and MetroPCS. All these four carriers use different technologies, none of which are technically 4G. WiMAX network used in Sprint, T-Mobile’s network is HSPA+ and LTE is in MetroPCS.
