American actress and model, Jaime Pressly, who was married to entertainment lawyer, Simran Singh, in 2008, filed for divorce after 16 months of marriage.

The 33-year-old Golden Globe nominated actress cited irreconcilable differences to be the reason of the divorce and the papers were filed in Los Angeles Supreme Court on January 21.

A source told Us Magazine that the couple married too quickly, Singh seemed like a good guy in the beginning but had major problems with his ego and put her down for everything. He used to pick fights with her wife on minute matters.

According to People Magazine, the papers filed in the court state that actress seeks to avoid paying any spousal support. She has also applied for the reversion of her name to Pressly, which was changed into Pressly-Singh, after her marriage.

The news of the split came after the actress was arrested on January 5th for suspicion of driving under the influence in Santa Monica, California and was released on $15,000 bail. The actress claimed that although she filed for divorce on January 21 the marriage formally ended 9 days before her arrest.

Adding to her misery is a fact that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and State of California have filed a lawsuit against her and sent her bills of $637,000 for unpaid public taxes.
