Power 3 Medical Products Inc. (OTC BB: PWRM) recently has unexpectedly discovered new and unprecedented findings regarding clinically important differences in the response of the NuroPro protein biomarkers in the blood of untreated Alzheimer’s disease patients compared to patients treated with the widely used anti-dementia drugs Aricept (Donepezil HCl, Pfizer – NYSE: PFE), Exelon (Rivastigmine, Novartis – NYSE: NVS), and Namenda (Memantine HCl, Forest Laboratories – NYSE: FRX). These results relate to the genetically distinct groups of Alzheimer’s disease patients, i.e., those individuals who possess the Alzheimer’s high-risk gene for Apolipoprotein E4 and those who do not possess the gene. PWRM’s NuroPro was originally indicated for diagnostics to determine whether or not a patient had Alzheimer’s disease. With these results, PWRM’s NuroPro now extends into the pharmaceutical arena due to its ability to predict and monitor the response to drug treatment, including the underlying disease process and the insidious progression of irreversible neurological damage, even in the face of temporary improvements in cognition and other symptoms

Healthways, Inc. (NASDAQ: HWAY) reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2010. Total revenues for the quarter were $175.5 million compared with $177.8 million for the second quarter of 2009. Net income for the second quarter of 2010 was $11.8 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, compared with $8.9 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2009. Results for the second quarter of 2010 included earnings of $0.05 per diluted share attributable to an adjustment to an estimated earn-out liability and an investment gain. Excluding these items, adjusted earnings per diluted share totaled $0.29, an 11.5% increase over the second quarter of 2009.

DXP Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: DXPE) reported net income of $4,584,000 for the second quarter ended June 30, 2010, with diluted earnings per share of $0.31 compared to net income of $2,166,000 and diluted earnings per share of $0.15 for the second quarter of 2009. Sales increased $22.9 million, or 15.9%, to approximately $167.3 million from $144.4 million for the same period in 2009. After excluding the $13.4 million of sales of Quadna, acquired on April 1, 2010, sales for the second quarter of 2010 increased 6.6% over the same period in 2009.

Hittite Microwave Corporation (NASDAQ:HITT) reported revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2010 of $60.3 million, representing an increase of 52.0% compared with $39.7 million for the second quarter of 2009 and an increase of 11.3% compared with $54.2 million for the first quarter of 2010. Net income for the quarter was $19.2 million, or $0.64 per diluted share, an increase of 81.0% compared with $10.6 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2009, and an increase of 18.9% compared with $16.1 million, or $0.54 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2010.

CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CF) reported that its Board of Directors has declared a $0.10 per share dividend on its common stock for the third quarter. The dividend will be payable on August 31, 2010 to stockholders of record as of August 13, 2010.
