Apple unveiled its much-anticipated third-generation iPad with a bunch of new features in San Francisco on Wednesday.
The new iPad comes with a high-definition screen with the resolution of the display was 2,048 by 1,536 pixels, driven by faster processing chip powered by a new A5X chip with improved graphics performance.
Tim Cook, the chief executive of the company claimed to have redefined once again the category Apple created. Â The new iPad also features a 5MP camera sensor and will be able to run on 4G LTE networks where the service is available and also act as a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices if carriers allow the function.

French media reported that the founder of the French breast implant company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) at the heart of a global health scare has been jailed after failing to pay his bail.
The 72-year old PIP boss Jean-Claude Mas, was released on $131,000 bail in January 2012, facing a charge of involuntary injury.
French breast implant company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) was shut down in 2010 after its product was found to have used industrial-grade silicone gel.
According to reports, more than 400,000 women in more than 60 countries are thought to have had the implants.

A new poll results showed that a majority of US people back the President Barack Obama’s decision to apologize for US troops burning copies of the Muslims’ Holy Book Quran in Afghanistan.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos survey showed that 56% of those surveyed agreed with the Obama’s decision to apologize, while only 23% disagreed with the president’s decision of apology.
Reports showed that the support for the Obama’s decision of apology was more split by partisanship; however, just 37% of GOP voters backed the decision, as compared to 53% of independents and 76% of Democrats.

The United Nation said on Tuesday, the world’s nations achieved a UN goal of cutting in half the proportion of people without access to safe drinking water five years ahead of the 2015.
The UNICEF (United Nation Children’s Fund) and the WHO (World Health Organization) released a report saying that during the period between 1990 and 2010, two billion people had achieved access to improved water, through tools like water pipes and protected wells.
Agencies said that the 2 billion figures mean that one of the first Millennium Development Goals to be met.

The latest statement released by the White House, Tuesday’s media news conference is not timed to shift the world’s media attention away from the Super Tuesday’s 10 Republican primaries.

Police said that dozens of angry protestors were arrested at the California Capitol in Sacramento late Monday during a protest over hikes and budget cuts at California’s public universities.
Authorities said that hundreds of students and many other people marched on the statehouse and rallied outside the Capitol before many of the activists moved the demonstration inside the building, blockage hallways in and around the rotunda.
Local media reported that the one group chanted slogans “no cuts, no fees, education must be free”, as they sat crossed-legged on the black-and-white tiled floor of the statehouse.

Australian authorities said today that floods across eastern region of the country forced more than 13,500 people to leave their homes after record-high summer rains drenched three states over the past week, swelling rivers and forcing local dams to run over.
Emergency authorities said that nearly 9,000 people have been ordered to leave their homes in the inland city of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

On Monday, a group of gunmen killed 27 Iraqi police officers in early morning shooting at checkpoints in the western Iraqi city of Haditha.
According to police source, who had been carrying the victims to a hospital morgue, told that three other policemen had been wounded and one of the gunmen also died.
Local media said that the facility of the Haditha hospital had received 27 bodies of slain victims, and three wounded policemen were being treated.
