The Obama administration will propose a significant overhaul of the nation’s corporate tax code on Wednesday.
According to a senior administration official, the plan would lower the nation’s corporate tax rate to 28 percent. Additionally he wants to boost overall revenues from corporate taxation by banning numerous deductions and loopholes that save companies tens of billions of dollars a year on their tax bills.
The current U.S. corporate tax rate of 35 percent making it one of the highest in the world, however the abundance of loopholes and deductions enable many businesses to pay far less than that, and sometimes nothing at all.

According to media reports the Syrian opposition will participate in a conference in Tunis scheduled this Friday, The invitation of the conference has been sent to the members of the Arab League, the United Nations as well including Russia, China and the United States. Rafik Abdessalam the Foreign Minister of Tunisia after attending a meeting on Monday with the foreign ministers of the Mediterranean region said that during the talks the need to avoid an Iraq scenario and prevention of territorial integrity of Syria was emphasized.

According to the Chinese official media, the country’s vice foreign minister Zhai Jun said that the world should not violate the sovereignty of Syria after he held talks with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Meqdad, in the Syrian capital, Damascus. President Barack Obama racked in $29.1 million for his re-election campaign and the Democratic Party in January, raising his total for this election cycle to nearly $250 million.
The amount announced Friday, indicates that he has picked up the pace from his $23 million-a-month average of the final three months of last year
The Obama Victory Fund, a joint venture of his campaign and the Democratic National Committee, raised $13.4 million. Separately, the Obama campaign raised $9.3 million, the DNC raised $6.1 million and an Obama swing state fund raised $384,000, according to financial reports and Obama campaign officials.

President Obama on Wednesday visited a Wisconsin factory to promote his insourcing economic plan, which he says could help prod American manufacturers to bring jobs home from China and elsewhere overseas.
Mr. Walker, a Republican who is facing a recall election he has predicted will be a bellwether for Mr. Obama’s chances in Wisconsin, pulled out of the joint tour with the president at the last minute. Mr. Walker’s spokesman told reporters that the governor was dealing with the flu so he would not accompany Obama to congratulate Master Lock for bringing jobs back to the US.

On Tuesday the US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said that he does not believe that Israel has arrived at any decision yet to attack Iran in order to thwart its nuclear program. According to Pakistani officials on Sunday, the Afghan security forces kidnapped two Pakistanis in southwestern Baluchistan province of Pakistan and shot them. The Obama Administration has imposed further strict sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran that also include the freezing of its assets in the Central Bank of the United States. The human rights organization based in London, Amnesty International, said that there should be a trial of the Indian army personnel who are currently facing severe charges of grave human rights violations. The Kashmir Media Service said that Amnesty International, while citing the February 4 order of the Indian Supreme Court, stated clearly that the Indian army could by no means use the Armed Forces Special powers Act (AFSPA) to avoid the expected prosecution of the eight Indian army officers who have been charged of the killings of five Kashmiri villagers in Pathribal in March 2000.
