On Tuesday the Nigerian security forces patrolled in the city of Maiduguri, where some 30 people lost their lives in an attack which is suspected was carried out by the Islamists. On Monday a semi-official Iranian news agency reported that the Islamic Republic is considering the plans to expand the existing oil embargo on Britain and France to other European states as well. Ahmed Qalehbani, the head of the state oil company of Iran said that Iran could halt the sales of crude to the countries that were taking actions against Iran. He said further that if some European states continue their hostile acts towards Iran, crude exports to these nations will be halted.

The Malaysian authorities have detained an Iranian national who is suspected of his alleged role in the bomb plot targeting Israeli diplomats in the Thai capital, Bangkok. On Tuesday, Bangkok was rattled by the bombings, and the detained Iranian is among the three suspects of the bombings. This has escalated the campaign against Iran of having been involved in a terror campaign against Israel. Tuesday a senior Iranian official told the Russian news agency that Iran will be presenting new advancements made on its nuclear program on Wednesday, by loading domestically the indigenously made nuclear fuel into the research reactor in Tehran. On Wednesday, Iran's Oil Ministry denied state media reports on the Islamic state stopping its crude exports to six European countries
"If such a decision is made, it would be announced by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, we deny this report according to a spokesman for the ministry told Reuters.
Previously Iran's English language Press TV had said Tehran has stopped exporting oil to France, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Netherlands and Spain.

On Monday the NATO led forces in Afghanistan said that Afghan children were mistakenly killed in an air strike which has infuriated the Afghan government as well. NATO said further that these killing might be linked to an anti-insurgent operation being carried out in the area. On Sunday, Japanese scientists said that the temperature readings at one of the most damaged nuclear reactor's of last year’s disaster Fukushima, have risen above the country’s severe new safety standard, but there was no immediate danger.
The Tokyo Electric Power Company Incorporated (TEPCO), said that one of three thermometers on the number-two reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant showed steady heating in the month of February and reached 179.6 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday.

The Iranian parliament has summoned the president of the country, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, saying that he has been involved in the mismanagement of the country’s affairs, especially the current economic woes.
