South Korea wants the revival of nuclear talks with North Korea. Lee Myung-Bak, the President of South Korea, has in an apparent softening of his stance towards negotiations has called for new international talks with North Korea on shutting down its nuclear program.
Lee said that South Korea has no choice other than resolving the problem of dismantling North Korea’s nuclear program diplomatically through the six party talks. Lee pointed at the discussions that began in 2003 and have been stalled for two years.

Five people have been arrested in Copenhagen suspected of planning to attack the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten that in 2005 outraged Muslims with blasphemous cartoons. The PET security police of Denmark have said that the suspects had planned to enter an office block in Copenhagen housing several newspapers including offices of the daily Jyllands-Posten to kill as many of those around.
PET said that the police had found a machine gun with a silencer, ammunition and plastic strips that could be used as handcuffs. However it did not indicate whether the items had been seized.
