American football wide receiver, Michael Floyd, who currently plays for University of Notre Dame, was sentenced to one year probation and will have his driving license revoked for 90 days after pleading guilty for the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
This was the third drunk driving charge against the wide receiver, who is considered as the best future prospect of the game in college football. The third offence could have landed him in a state penitentiary for one year but the plea deal saved him and he got away with one year probation only.

An online poker card room, Full Tilt Poker, launched by a team of poker professionals in 2004, has found itself in deep trouble, after its gambling license was suspended by casino regulators on the British Channel Islands, stopping the company’s online card games.
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission also issued a statement, clarifying the reasons of suspension of the license of the online poker company. It was stated that a full scale investigation has been launched against the company officials, who have been indicted in New York for bank fraud, money laundering and other crimes.

The soccer team for the Equatorial New Guinea is renowned to raise controversies and the most recent controversy rose when one of its key strikers, Jade Boho Sayo, was barred from international soccer for 2 months, which will also prevent her from taking any part in the country’s World Cup campaign.

The number of graduates leaving university and unsuccessful finding work fell slightly to just under 20,000 last year, with unemployment levels higher among men than women, official figures showed on Thursday.
Almost one in 10 graduates (9 percent) were assumed to be unemployed after graduating.
That was down slightly from 10 percent in 2008/9 but higher than five years ago when it stood at six percent, according to the figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
Unemployment was higher among men than women. Nine percent of all UK male students were out of work after 6 months compared to six percent of women.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels that he can sign Arsenal ace Samir Nasri by breaking the will of Arsene Wenger.
Ferguson decided to move for the French star after rivals City entered the chase.

A media report said, a small town in Britain with a population of around 12,000 may soon become the first in the country to ban smoking on its streets.
Stony Stratford in North Buckinghamshire, is expected to pass a law that would forbid smoking on any street or open public place. Offenders would be fined.
The move has been valuated by anti-smoking groups and has also been criticized by civil liberty campaigners.
Councillor Paul Bartlett said the ban would protect children from the effects of passive smoking, make the environment cleaner, save money in litter clearing. He also added he did not feel people should have the freedom
