British art historian and museum director, Neil MacGregor, said that artifacts of historical and cultural significance, that are displayed in most of the major museums around the globe, should not be returned back to their country of origin.

Michael D. Higgins has been elected as the new President of Ireland. He is the country’s former culture minister and also a part-time poet from the junior coalition party of Ireland. He was named as the President of Ireland after he easily defeated an ex-IRA commander and a reality TV star. 70 years old Higgins is a critic of the blockade in Gaza imposed by Israel and has been an active and prominent member of the human rights demonstrations for many decades. The United States has now confessed that its predator drones are flying over the African nation of Ethiopia as part of a counter-terrorism campaign in the Horn of Africa, however, it was clarified that they were unarmed and not carrying out any raids. Captain John Kirby, the spokesman of the Pentagon, said that the United States currently has unmanned and unarmed predator aircraft at a facility, which are only used for the purpose of surveillance, being the part of a broader and well-coordinated integrated campaign to counter terrorism.

Stanley McChrystal, the American Commander in Afghanistan who was sacked by President Barack Obama, has been once gain invited by the Afghan government to Kabul. Officials said that he has accepted the invitation by the Kabul government to visit the country. The trip which is expected to take place next month will mark the first visit of the retired general since he was sacked from his post. The General was fired after an article in the magazine, "Rolling Stone" in which his friends and aides were found criticizing the civilian deputies of Obama and the White House.

In the southeast Turkish town of Bingol, a female suicide bomber blew herself up, wounding some 20 people. Police said that the town of Bingol is mainly a Kurdish dominated region. Idris Naim Sahin, the Interior Minister, said that the blast occurred at a tea house, which is situated close to the office of the current Turkish ruling party the AK, in the main street of the town at around 1:20 pm. Police said that the suicide bomber had detonated the explosive devices that were wrapped around her body. Fears of attacks by the homegrown Islamist militants are increasing in Somalia as the Kenyan forces are making slow progress within Somalia against the Shebab rebels. It has been almost two weeks since the intervention of Kenyan forces inside Somalia to launch an attack against the Al-Qaeda inspired Shebab rebels. This week has already witnessed grenade attacks, which have been blamed on the Islamist militia.
